Hello,
Check the defrost heater in the freezer section  https://www.appliancezone.com/5300jk1005d-lg-refrigerator-defrost-heater/
heater should have continuity, any burns would most likely be visible. This part heats up and melts the ice off of the evaporator coils.

Yes, to get to the heater and evaporator you will need to remove the back panel in the freezer

there should be a small defrost thermostat near the heater though i am not seeing it on the illustration but the illustration is hard to make out. The defrost cycle functions via the control board here --> https://www.thriftyapplianceparts.com/ebr34917104-lg-refrigerator-main-control-board/
My info is limited on this model unfortunately so you will have to do more research but it sounds obvious the unit is not going through the auto defrost cycle which is causing the evaporator coils to freeze up.
