I have a GE bottom drawer freezer with ice maker model GDSC3KCYC BB.   I noticed that every time the freezer door is closed a small amount of water is dispensed into ice maker.  This has caused my ice maker to freeze over.  What is causing the water to be dispensed to the ice maker every time the freezer door is closed?  I tried replacing the ice maker with an aftermarket ice maker, and I cannot get any water to dispense to the ice maker with the new ice maker. My Fridge/freezer does not have a water/ ice dispenser. You have to open freezer and pull out ice bin to get ice.
Thanks

Hello.
The icemaker would not have anything to do with no water dispensing .. the icemaker calls for water every cycle and the inlet valve sends water up to the icemaker and to the door if you have the water dispenser in the door.
Have you checked this part or changed it?  https://www.appliancezone.com/wr57x10086-ge-refrigerator-water-inlet-valve/
When the icemaker calls for water, this valve sends water to it and also to the door.
