Start button says push and hold. Often it starts after holding it in for 3 seconds. However now sometimes need to hold it for 5, 8, or even 12 seconds before it starts. Also, sometimes it wont start at all. Then I release it after 20 seconds and try again. Sometimes it will start the 2nd or 3rd try, but frequently it does not. Then the next day it may behave the same way or it might start.
The start push button feels fine and sometimes I even try push extra hard.
The LEDs are light up during all this. The light in the tub also comes on when door is open, even if it wont start.
Ideas?

Hello,
It almost sounds like a door switch issue.. make sure the door switch "clicks" when closed or manually pressing anyways to make sure you hear the click. If the door switch seems fine I hate to suggest it but you may have something failing in the control board

It looks like the start button is built into the control board + control panel, so that piece would have to be replaced if the door lock has been ruled out. I have included the part #'s for the 2 different color replacement parts below.
White Control Assembly : WP8529879
Black Control Assembly : WP8529881

Before replacing the Control Assembly, I would recommend taking the back off the machine, just to be sure there's no wire that has come loose. I have seen where the wire was only barely connected, causing a bad connection with the button on occasion. Just make sure that all of the wires are fully plugged into the board. Please ensure the appliance is fully disconnected from the power supply before doing this.

Thanks!
