I've had this washer for about 2 years. The first year there where so many problems that I took out an extended service plan for the second year. After the initial problems were resolved it worked well for about a year. Then 7 or 8 weeks ago it wouldn't spin, most of the time.
The service plan had a company from Orlando come out to "repair" it. They have now been here 6 times throwing parts at it and leaving just for me to find out that when I put a load in, it wouldn't spin.
The last time they came out a week ago last Friday, they told me that they were going to order a pressure switch, I believe the part number is WPW10192975 (AP6016662). It's Monday now, 9 days later, and I just got a call from them to tell me that the part was no longer available.
I just got off the phone with the extended service plan company, talking to a  "resolution specialist", he is going to verify that the part is really not available and someone will get back with me today.
I find it a bit surprising that a company would stop making a part for anything when it's only two years old.
Just rambling here, but looking for your thoughts about all of this.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear of your issue.. yeah this sounds like real bad news and what a nightmare for you. I have confirmed the pressure switch is no longer available.. there may be one here and there on ebay but who knows you could end up getting a used one. The good news is if this part is no longer available the contract should cover a replacement washer for you then you could get out from under this nightmare.. Service and warranty contracts are all different but when I was in service and an appliance couldn't be fixed in most cases the customer got their appliance replaced.
I wish you luck with this and hope you find an acceptable resolution

Thanks for the response. That's all good to hear. I expect to get a call later today, I'll post what I hear.
The problem with a replacement might be that I live in a small condo. While the width and height arn't a problem I'm stuck with a max depth of 24, maybe 25 in if I push it and I'm not finding a lot of choices. That was one of the main reason I picked the one I did.
I'll see what happens and let you know.
Thanks again.

Well, the warranty company did a buy out at 75%. My options were limited do to my space constraints but I found a GE space saver top loader which I'm happy about, plus it gives me about a 1/3 more capacity. It will be delivered this Sat and they will be hauling away that crappy Whirlpool.
6 weeks of misery but all in all it worked out.

OK, just a follow up. I replaced the Whirlpool with a GE Model GNW128SSMOWW, so far I'm loving it. It's a top loader which I prefer after having that Whirlpool. Bigger tub which will come in very handy. It's got a much shorter wash cycle.
This whole thing wasn't a process I want to go through again but I think I came out on the up side.
Thinking back, when the Whirlpool was being installed two years ago the installers had a hard time getting it to work. I just assumed they didn't know what they were doing, bad assumption, should have refused delivery and avoided all of this..
