Not sure anyone can help but it never hurts to ask. We had our air conditioner fixed last month. They replaced the copacitor and the contactor. It worked fine for about a month and then fan stopped. I shut off and let it sit and it turns on fine but fan shuts off after 3 minutes and then compressor shuts off a minute later.

The repairman came back and said it needs a new condenser fan motor and wants around a 1000.00 to fix. Well we can't afford that so I am looking into just replacing it myself. I have googled it and it seems like I am capable of this. I have seen lots of people say to make sure the capacitor matches the motor. I need to know what numbers need to match so i get the right one. I have found my motor model online but what needs to match capacitor?

Is it possible they put the wrong size capacitor and if they did would it have worked at all. I mean could I just have to replace that and not fan motor.

Good afternoon and thanks for posting on the Forum!

Would you have the model number of the AC? We would be happy to check to see if we can find some information on your unit!

I am showing that the correct part number for the Dual Run Capacitor is P291-3553RS. Is this the one that was replaced?
