Hi, I have a GE Profile PHB925SP-1SS electric range. Everything lights up as it should, but when you try and turn a burner or oven on, it starts to go on and then an error code of FA63 (could be FR63) shows on the display and nothing gets hot. My son was using it when it failed and said some smoke came out of the panel. I looked over the main board and found one component that on the board ( a 1/2" square thing on under the display) that looked like it might have fried. http://www.appliancerepairforum.com/uploads/images/3a2d9b63-27f4-4fd4-8919-ce91.jpgI called GE and they were no help at all with the error code. Does anyone know what the code means and do you think this is the only problem with the range.
Thanks
Jon

Hello, welcome to the forum. That error means there is an issue with the filter board, number 5 in the diagram below.  I cannot tell which board you posted the photo of above, but the part number for the filter board is WB27X11074.

It looks like you replaced the main board instead of the filter board I recommended. The filter board is what I showed you that needed to be replaced, not the main board.
